I bought my home less than a year ago . It's an older home , built in 1965. But most houses in my area are . There hasn't been many updates since it was built . I've done a little here and there . Recently I bought a new oil furnace . Because the one in my home caught fire and was no longer able to use . About $6,000 later it works great , I'm warm and safe again .
I then called Efficiency VT ( I live in VT , you should check your area ) about savings and rebates . The lady told me to fill out the rebate form online and send it in . So I did . A check was mailed back to me for the amount of $500.
I also asked about the other improvements I've made to the house . I will be able to get rebates for them too . A new dishwasher , new washer / dryer, hot water tank , lights and bulbs . Check your local area or state to see if you can qualify for home improvement .

I spent the wkd in Massachuets . At a birthday party for my best friend's daughter . In their back yard was a huge tent . Normal price tag just to rent it could range up to $1,000 or more . My best friend found it on Craigslist in NH at $135. Plus 2 fold out tables & chairs . That's a huge savings that can be reused many times .

I just put this great piece in my upstairs living room . That is currently open & no piece of furniture lives there . Until now . I got this from people that were looking to down size & retire . They gave it to me for free . Even better it matches the green I have in that room .

Ask for warrantied parts . If your alternator or battery , even electrical items die replace it with a warrantied part to save attentional cost down the road if the same problem happens.
Ask the dealership you bought your vehicle from if they give a discount for repairs . My dealership gives 10% off .
Learn how or know someone that knows mechanical work . I don't know a lot of mechanical work but I do know simple things . For instance how to put a battery in .
Many mechanics can over charge if you don't know what is going on . Make sure you know the cost & ask someone you know for advice if you are unsure . I am lucky enough to work with all guys . Whenever I need a male answer it's there .
